Great Rivers Workforce Development Corporation Offers Scholarship

The Madison-Bond Workforce Investment Board (WIB) formed the Great River Workforce Development Corporation, Inc, NFP (GRWDC) exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Thanks to generous contributions from area businesses, the GRWDC is offering scholarships to graduating high school students in the counties of Bond and Madison.

Four (4) $500 scholarships are being offered to students for attendance to either Kaskaskia College , Lewis and Clark Community College , or Southwestern Illinois College . Individuals applying will need to be graduating high school seniors entering community college and must reside in the counties of Madison or Bond. The students will be required to submit a well-organized, well-written 250 word essay identifying his/her career goals, why that particular goal was chosen and the type of activity in which they have been involved to support and achieve that particular career goal. A Letter of Recommendation and a copy of the students' high school transcripts are also required. The award will be made to the school in the students' name.

If you have questions about the scholarships, please contact Linda Odle at (618) 296-4456 or lodle@mcetd.org at your earliest convenience.
